Greenfoot is my favorite environment for teaching object-oriented programming (OOP) 1 & 2. Students love how easy and intuitive it is to work with. In 3 hours, you will tour Greenfoot and build 3 applications that you can take into your classroom on Monday! You will build 2 different kinds of interactive games and a simulation. (But really, we’re going to implement abstraction, inheritance, encapsulation and polymorphism)
BIO Janice Parsons has a B.Sc. in Software Design and a B.Ed. in Math & Technology. She may have worked as a Systems Analyst and Consultant before beginning her career as a teacher, but, even then, she was always teaching and always learning. She teaches Computer Science at Jasper Place HS having earned many MTA and Oracle certifications.
